Head of PETA India Poorva Joshipura is leading a project which will bring Bollywood stars and Hollywood celebrities together. A vegan cookbook entitled “The Bolly Holly Vegan Cookbook” is set to be released in 2013.
Bollywood stars who will share recipes for the book include Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and Neha Dhupia. Other Indian actors who will provide input include Sonu Sood, Raveena Tandon, Amrita Rao, Celina Jaitly and Jacqueline Fernandez.
Ingrid Newkirk, founder of PETA US and Dr. Neal Barnard, founder of The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) will contribute writings to the cookbook. Other Hollywood celebrities who are set to support the book include Pamela Anderson, Alicia Silverstone, Sir Paul McCartney, Bryan Adams, Stella McCartney and Eva Mendes.
The cookbook will be represented by Jacaranda Press. Joshipura stated that she feels the cookbook will help readers understand how a vegan diet helps celebrities stay in great shape. She stated “learning what celebrities eat can reveal the secrets behind their shiny hair, slim figures, toned bodies and smooth, healthy skin.” Each chapter of the book will offer celebrity tips, quotations and information about the benefits of a vegan diet.
